Tunable Picosecond Laser <MLLD-100>

The MLLD-100 is a tunable
picosecond pulsed laser source based on a hybridly mode-locked
semiconductor laser diode technology. The laser delivers a short pulse
width of 2 ps with wavelength that covers the entire C-band window from
1530 to 1565 nm. The repetition pulse base rate is tuned via cavity
length tuning around 10 GHz, making it a
suitable pulse source for high-speed optical communication applications.
The MLLD-100 operates in fundamental longitudinal mode (single
pulse in a cavity round trip) yielding excellent stability with no
pulse-to-pulse amplitude fluctuation, unlike other harmonically
mode-locked fiber lasers which has multiple pulses in a cavity round
trip, causing instability and required precise and complex
phase-locking control for stabilisation. The pulse repetition rate of
the MLLD-100 can be adjusted from 8.5GHz to 11.5GHz to match the
required transmission bit-rate. Repetition rate
locking to an external RF is possible for ultra stable operation. |
