The OSA-150 is a fast optical spectrum analyzer manufactured
by Southern Photonics. It features a high resoluton of 16pm (2GHz) and
a very fast scan rate of upto 20Hz. Unlike the conventional OSA, the OSA-150
is very lightweight, compact and operated via a simple USB port.
The Southern Photonics OSA150 exhibits a 10dB improvement in
the Optical Rejection Ratio (ORR) parameter when compared to conventional
Fabry-Perot filter-based OSAs. This improvement in ORR makes the OSA150
an ideal candidate for real-time measurement of closely-spaced DWDM channels
in laboratory or manufacturing facilities. It is an indispensable measurement
tool for real-time spectrum monitoring in applcations such as fine-tuning
of mode-locked laser, high-resolution spectrum monitoring, spectral-feedback
control system and laser-diode partition noise analysis.
